I wonder if this is why my mother would pour warm olive oil in my ears when I was a kid & secure with a small cotton ball to prevent leakage? I grew up with several old school remedies which worked & I still practice today.
Ghosts work for me as an explanation as well as anything else, really. Anecdotally, my balance is much better, and any ringing or other undesirable things affecting my ears seems to have dramatically lessened since my successful cataract removal surgery this summer. There is a reason why we have a specialty for the combined category of ears, nose, and throat, I'm sure, but no idea why the eyes are not also included. Of course, since everything is connected, I guess one has to arbitrarily or otherwise decide to draw a line somewhere. Also, the eyes seem to have a closer connection, perhaps, to neurology. All I know is that I Iucked into having a top-notch eye surgeon for my cataracts, and he proved to be a delightful human being into the bargain.
Who knew tinnitus has been around that long. It would be interesting to compare these old text with what we know today
